Working with such a dynamic client base has given Liam an excellent insight into the security industry and its specific needs. It has also shaped his approach to client relationships, enabling him to diversify and greatly expand the business after joining in 2016.

In his first role as Commercial Director, Liam took over the management of key contracts and also was responsible for developing and delivering new revenue streams, which were achieved through the introduction of new technology solutions and through his work securing new clients. Over the next three years, he also became increasingly influential in shaping the business’ strategic direction and was promoted to Managing Director in 2019.

Liam has retained a hands-on approach to client relationships and has continued to oversee the security company’s impressive growth, which has seen it move from being a regional operator to providing a national service to clients.

When he first joined, Marpol Security had mainly focused on the provision of manned guarding, which was predominantly for the construction sector. However, over the past five years he has helped to introduce an ever-expanding range of cutting-edge technological solutions to complement the security company’s manpower services, and has also been instrumental in diversifying the sectors Marpol Security services.

Liam has extensive experience of supporting insolvency practitioners and receivers in the protection of property assets and can step in to ensure that assets retain their value and insurance cover is maintained until the property is re-let or the assets disposed of.

He can also offer an important supportive service to administrators in potentially hostile environments by making sure effective security measures are installed quickly to protect the individuals.

Marpol Security has longstanding contracts with major property companies and Liam has a pivotal role in managing their portfolios of vacant and void properties. He oversees a number of critical services, including the monitoring of the property for structural damage, providing security and regular inspections to prevent break-ins and a facilities management service that encompasses repairs where needed.

Marpol Security is certified to the Security Industry Authority’s (SIA) government standards and is a member of its Approved Contractor Scheme.

Liam’s team of experienced security consultants and managers have impressive backgrounds in the military, the police, the financial sector and legal profession. Everyone is vetted to ensure they meet the requirements of British Standard BS7858 and are DBS checked.

His team also brings invaluable professional expertise and insights, which gives them an intimate understanding of the risks involved for clients and the security solutions required to manage and mitigate them.

Liam originally trained as a solicitor and then worked for Hill Dickinson LLP in its regulatory department for eight years. During this time, he dealt with a number of public inquiries and gained significant experience working with blue-chip clients. His legal background has given him an excellent foundation on which to support clients with their security needs.
